"Free Pascal" is not a standard Pascal compiler; it violates ISO standards.

p2c works fine for me on a Sun computer.  It translates from Pascal to C and
then one can compile with gcc.  One must also compile a library.  It works
just fine, but is not being developed like gpc.

p2c and gpc are the only two Pascal compilers that I know about that
are real (ISO) and have source available.
