Subject: Trying to link gpc to XView - crtbegin.o No such file or directory
Date: 28 Dec 2005, 13:49:42
Hi, I have just reinstalled Cygwin which comes with gpc version 20040516, based upon gcc-3.3.3. The gcc version is 3.4.4. I am assuning that there are OK, because they were provided as binaries that were bundled in the Cygwin install. I have installed XView ( from xview-3.2p1.4-18c-cygwin.tar.bz2, from http://www.physionet.org/physiotools/xview/) and am trying to write a small example program to illustrate linking a Pascal program to XView. I attach my files (p.p, x_message.c and my Makefile). When I do a make I get the error message: $ make gpc -o test p.p x_message.o -I /usr/openwin/library -Lxview -LX11 p.p:6: warning: missing string capacity -- assuming 255 /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin/3.3.3/../../../../i686-pc-cygwin/bin/ld: crtbegin.o: No such file: No such file or directory make: *** [test] Error 1 I would be grateful for some help with this. Many thanks (and a happy New Year), Chris.
